We would like to thank everyone who attended the 2008 LITDA Annual Convention and Tradeshow in Biloxi, MS on February 28- March 1, 2008!
Paul Bernstein opened the 2008 LITDA Convention. Bernstein joined more than 150 tire dealers, exhibitors, and sponsors in Biloxi, MS at the Louisiana Independent Tire Dealers Association 2008 Annual Convention and Tradeshow at the Beau Rivage Casino and Resort in Biloxi, MS.
Vin Waterhouse with the Waterhouse Group, John Bishop with Automotive Training Institute, and Bob Ulrich with Modern Tire Dealer were this years keynote speakers. Waterhouse discussed Selling and Getting Paid for Every Diagnostic. John Bishop discussed Tire Profits Boot Camp, and how to increase higher sales and make a more successful business for tomorrow. Bob Ulrich highlighted industry trends that will affect the tire industry in 2008.
Chet Simpson, Owner of Simpson’s Service Center in Baton Rouge, LA was installed as the 2008-2010 LITDA President. Simpson replaced Paul Bernstein with Delta World Tire Co. The LITDA members also voted on a new slate of officers at the convention. In addition to Chet Simpson, Kip Vincent with Colt Inc. in Scott, LA was elected as first vice president; Troy Matherne with CARQUEST Auto Parts, Baton Rouge, LA was elected as second vice president. Three Board Members were also elected, Ray Mohler, Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts, Monroe, LA, Doug Robinson, Hesselbein Tire Co., Houma, LA, and Eric Roundtree, Chabill’s Tire Co., Morgan City, LA.
The Annual Hall of Fame Awards Ceremonies honored Rick Lambert PR/IT Manager of CTO in Ventress, LA, and Emmett Woods, president of Duckworth Woods Tire Service in Metairie, LA as this years winners.
