The 2008 Legislative Session is nearing the halfway mark. So far, there is no major legislation impacting the tire dealer industry. We are tracking a number of bills, which are listed below. The association has taken a position on SB 178 which has not been scheduled for committee yet. Both HB 43 and HB 237 are being monitored through the process to make sure they do not impact the tire industry in a negative way. So far, they have both passed the House and are scheduled to be heard in Senate Committees. Please keep a look out for additional communication as the process can move quickly and we may need you to respond at a moments notice.

The Legislative Process is very unpredictable. It is important that we stay engaged in the process and have an impact on legislation the affects our profession. Your contact with legislators is often the difference between success and failure.
